This comparison is published by Nolan. RentEngine’s pages were checked on October 15, 2026. Quote-only prices and capabilities we could not confirm are identified as such.
What does each one cost?
RentEngine does not publish a platform price. Its pricing page says “Pay for results, not software”, lists no recurring monthly fees, and adds a one-time onboarding fee for training and data migration. The onboarding amount isn’t published, and what counts as a paid result is set in the sales conversation.
AI voice is the one public number. The RentEngine AI page lists voice at $0.30 a minute, with texting included. No currency is stated.
| Illustrative AI voice use | RentEngine at $0.30 a minute |
|---|---|
| 500 minutes a month | $150 |
| 1,000 minutes a month | $300 |
| 2,500 minutes a month | $750 |
These are multiplication examples, not quotes. RentEngine’s platform charge and onboarding fee come on top, and its pages don’t say whether it bills in US or Canadian dollars.
Nolan publishes its full price list in Canadian dollars, including pooled voice minutes per door and the rate after them, in the table above and on the pricing page. There is no setup fee, and texting on a Canadian number needs no carrier registration.
How do the two workflows differ?
| Step | RentEngine | Nolan |
|---|---|---|
| Listing goes live | Syndicated to 30+ sites from RentEngine | Stays where you already list it, on Kijiji, Kangalou or elsewhere |
| First inquiry | AI call or text, around the clock, in English and Spanish | Nolan answers calls, texts, website chat and listing emails, in English or French |
| Finding a unit | Leads browse vacancies, with answers from your live listings | Nolan asks for the move-in month, budget and bedrooms, then sends the units that fit |
| Showing | Booked with drive-time scheduling; self-tours through SentriLock, Codebox or Igloo | Booked into your Google Calendar, with text reminders; your access setup stays |
| Application | Built-in application, TransUnion and Asurint reports, ID checks | Your screening provider’s link, sent at the right step |
| Your other systems | Syncs with “all major” property management systems, none named | HubSpot and LeadSimple, or any system by webhook, API or CSV |
What should you test in a demo?
Call RentEngine’s AI with a question about one of your units, then ask the same question in French. Its pages name English and Spanish only. Ask RentEngine in writing which features, phone numbers and screening reports work for Canadian units, what counts as a paid result, how much onboarding costs and in which currency it bills.
To try Nolan, call its demo line with a real listing question, then a follow-up, a changed preference and a request for a person. Switch to French partway through and check that Nolan switches with you.
Which one fits your team?
Choose RentEngine when you want to replace several tools at once and are ready to move listings, showings and applications onto one platform. Its syndication, built-in screening and self-guided showings are things Nolan does not do. Confirm first that it serves Canadian units.
Choose Nolan when your listing sites, access setup, screening provider and PMS already work and the gap is answering every renter fast, in English and French. It adds the agent without a migration, and its price is public, in Canadian dollars, before the first call.
How should you read this comparison?
Descriptions come from RentEngine’s public pages and Nolan’s product inventory. They are not a performance benchmark, and a capability we could not confirm is not described as absent. Product names belong to their owners; Nolan is not affiliated with RentEngine.
